"The Shoe"
The stadium got its name due to its horseshoe like shape. "The Shoe" is the largest stadium by capacity in all of the state of Ohio and is the 4th largest in college football stadiums in the U.S.
Ohio Stadium was one of the very first stadiums built by concrete and many were skeptical that it would hold, and here we are almost 100 years later and the stadium is standing taller and bigger than ever.

Dont Buck With The Nuts
BuckNuts, that is. And BuckNuts are what Ohio State Fans are called.
Whether you don't say back "I-O" after they call out "O-H", or you use the letter "M" on X-ichigan week, these fans DO NOT take OSU football lightly.
Which brings me to my next topic. The Ohio State - Michigan rivalry is one of the very best in all of sports.
(I have actually seen the last guy on the slideshow, for as many years as I can remember. He is a true BuckNut.)
Ohio State vs Xichigan
(OSU will not use the letter "M" in any way shape or form on Michigan game week)
The two teams first met on Oct. 16, 1897 - Michigan won 34-0 .......
OSU actually didn't get their first win against UM until 1919, things have changed a lot since then.
OSU has won 7 games in a row since 2012
Star studded coaching records against UM Woody Hayes won 16 times out of 27, Jim Tressel was 9-1 and Urban Meyer was 7-0 all-time against Michigan.
The record stands at Michigan in the lead with 58-50 with 6 ties between the two.
"THE game" alternates every year and will be held at The Big House in Michigan this year, can OSU go for 8 wins in a row? We'll see.
ESPN college sports analyst Marty Smith takes a look inside what is more than a rivalry between these two teams, watch it here:
Be sure to watch how the rivalry unfolds in 2019 for THE Ohio State University and the Michigan Wolverines on Nov. 30.
HAIL to the Victor's valiant, HAIL to the conquering heros! HAIL, HAIL MICHIGAN, Champions of the West!
