Background Info:

Opened In: April 20, 1912
Capacity: 37,755
In 1912 it cost 650,000 to build Fenway
Fun Fenway Facts:
In 2012 Fenway Park celebrated their centennial which makes the park the oldest currently used park in MLB history
Due to the amount of renovations that have been done to Fenway the park will be able to be usable through 2061 (that's pretty crazy and awesome)
Cardinal Henry O'Connell held mass at Fenway in 1918 to honor those who died in World War 1
There are over 210,000 dents in The Green Monster (the famous wall in left field)
Second smallest ballpark in capacity in the MLB

The Green Monster
37.2 feet in height in left field
the highest outfield wall of all MLB stadiums
The Monster was originally a wooden fence but it was later covered with concrete and then covered with plastic
Still has a manually operated scoreboard
Emil Disario is who to thank for The Green Monster
Below are pictures of in front of The Monster and behind the scenes

Check out this great little Fenway Tour video with Ball Girl Jackie!
You'll get to see video from behind the Monster and the special red seat of where the longest home run was hit by Ted Williams at 502 feet!
Last year my dad and I took a special trip to Boston (my first time!) We traveled specifically in hopes of watching the Patriots beat the Eagles in Super Bowl 52... but that didn't happen so, we did some sight seeing the day after! Although it was in February we were able to catch a game at Fenway we were able to walk around outside the stadium and soak in some history

"During a 1997 game at Fenway, Amy Tobey, who was one of the employees in charge of music at the ballpark during that season, played “Sweet Caroline” because someone she knew had recently given birth to a baby of that name, according to MLB.com.
Tobey became superstitious about its use over the next several years, only playing the song between the seventh and ninth innings when the Red Sox were winning the game."
Watch this video to get all the feels, and also if you like baseball and sports and are superstious about sports (like me) then watch the movie Fever Pitch you won't regret it!
