Who Is 'Lambeau'?

Earl Louis 'Curly' Lambeau founded and played for the Green Bay Packers in 1919. Lambeau was from Green Bay and played sports his whole life. He attended Notre Dame University where he played football and after graduation wanted to continue to do so. In 1919 Lambeau created the Green Bay Packers. He played from 1919-1929 and then moved from player to head coach and general manager of the team until 1949. Under Coach Lambeau the Packers won 6 championships.

The Biggest win of the NFL season is named after this guy:

Vince Lombardi

Lombardi was head coach of the Packers from '59-'67 and led the team to three consecutive Super Bowls and five total in seven years as coach, he paved the way for coaches ever since he stepped on the football field. Lombardi made sure that his players were dedicated, determined, and challenged every day. Lombardi implemented a regimen of discipline on his players, but only because it made them better. Lombardi's legacy will go down as one of the greatest coaches of all time. Unfortunately he passed away in 1970 unexpectedly from cancer. That same year the NFL decided to name the Super Bowl trophy 'The Lombardi Trophy' in his honor.

This video does a GREAT job depicting Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers and the fans who make it possible! Truly an awesome and loving family they have in Wisconsin.
